Walk. Think. Collaborate. Make an impact.
What if your Saturday morning walk could help a startup solve a real problem?
This November, Startup Stroll is teaming up with design impact lab for a special edition of our Saturday morning strolls, bringing together founders, designers and curious minds to tackle a real startup challenge.
Instead of just talking about our businesses, we're putting our heads together to help one founder move theirs forward.
💡 The concept
One founder. One real challenge. Lots of fresh perspectives.
Ahead of the event, founders can submit a problem they're facing - we’re looking for problems that affect real people’s lives. Things like: how do we reach the communities who need our service most, or how do we change a behaviour that’s causing harm? If your startup is tackling something in health, education, sustainability, community, or social equity, this is for you.
We'll select one challenge for the group to explore together on the day.
With guidance from design impact lab, we'll use design thinking: a creative, human-centred approach to solving problems to look at the challenge from different angles, spark new ideas and uncover potential solutions.
No design experience needed! Just bring your curiosity, an open mind and a willingness to collaborate.
☕ How the morning works
10:00 AM | Coffee & the challenge
We'll kick things off at WatchHouse Hanover, grab a coffee and meet our fellow strollers. Our selected founder will introduce their startup and the challenge they're facing.
We'll then split into small groups, each exploring the problem from a different perspective.
10:30 AM | Walk, talk & ideate
Time to get moving! We'll take our conversations outside, exploring ideas and challenging assumptions as we stroll through London.
Each group will work together to generate fresh perspectives and practical ideas, combining the creativity of design thinking with the experience of fellow founders.
11:30 AM | Share ideas & make an impact
We'll regroup to share our best ideas with the founder, who'll leave with fresh insights, potential solutions and one concrete next step to take their business forward.
🤝 Meet the communities
The Startup Stroll is a bi-monthly morning walk for founders and builders. Building something is hard and we rarely make room to just talk. About the messy bits, the doubts, and the wins that don't feel big enough to celebrate yet.
design impact lab is a London-based collective of UX designers, researchers and strategic thinkers who want to use their skills for something that matters. Through casual meetups and hands-on workshops, they bring people together to solve meaningful challenges through design.
Saturday November 28th, 10am-12pm. WatchHouse Hanover, London 🥐
