VARA [OFFSTAGE]
Meet the people behind the builds.
An invite-only evening for builders during Devcon in Mumbai.
We’d love to hear what you’re building and introduce you to people who could help you take it further.
VARA [OFFSTAGE] brings developers, founders and community builders together with the Vara team for an evening of live demos, candid conversations and personal introductions.
We’re taking the time to understand who’s joining, what they’re working on and where they could use support. Our aim is for everyone to leave with something useful: feedback they can act on, someone worth following up with or a clearer next step.🎁 The first 25 attendees will receive exclusive VARA [OFFSTAGE] merch.
🤝 Thoughtful introductions
Your introduction starts before you arrive.
When you request an invitation, tell us what you’re working on, where you could use support and who you’d find valuable to meet.
We’ll use that context to help connect you with people who have relevant experience or complementary interests. That could mean a developer who understands your technical challenge, a founder who has worked through a similar decision, a potential collaborator or someone who can point you towards mentorship and opportunities.
Our team will be around throughout the evening to welcome you and make introductions. If you’re coming on your own, we’ll help you find your first conversation.
🎙️ Inside the evening
A closer look at VaraShort presentations and live demos exploring what you can build with Vara, with room for questions and conversations with the team.
A fireside with buildersAn honest conversation about taking an idea into the world, finding early users and learning from decisions that didn’t go to plan.
Community spotlightsMeet community organisers and emerging teams sharing what they’re building, what they’ve learned and where others could get involved.
Conversations worth continuingTime to show someone your project, work through a question or get to know a potential collaborator. We’re leaving room for introductions to become proper conversations.
🛠️ Bring your work and your curiosity
An early idea, a working demo or a problem you haven’t figured out yet is a good place to start.
You don’t need prior experience with Vara. We welcome people at different stages who are curious about each other’s work and willing to share what they know.
Think about what you’d like to learn and what you might be able to help someone else with.
🗳️ Help shape Vara’s direction
What would make it easier for you to build within the Vara ecosystem?
Referendum #90 asks whether the Vara community should have its own treasury. It opens a broader conversation about the support builders need, the initiatives a community could back and the responsibilities that come with those decisions.
Explore the proposal beforehand and bring your perspective. We’d love to hear what you think deserves attention.

✉️ Request an invitation
We’re keeping attendance by invitation so we can be thoughtful about the people we bring together and give introductions the attention they deserve.
Your application helps us understand you beyond a name on the guest list.
Tell us what you’re building, who you’d like to meet and what would make this evening worthwhile for you. We’ll take it from there.
🌐 Stay connected with Vara
