Western Canada's largest hackathon, run by the student-led nwPlus club at UBC, now in its twelfth year. Roughly a thousand builders spend 24 hours shipping something from nothing, with mentors on the floor and sponsor hardware to play with. For a founder this is the cheapest way to see who in Vancouver can actually build, and a good place to recruit early engineers or find a technical co-founder. Applications open in the autumn.
