The national lab in Golden runs what is still the highest-signal room in US energy innovation: a vetted cohort of cleantech and energy startups pitches to a hall of climate VCs, corporate venture arms and strategics, with the lab's own researchers and licensable IP in the mix. Getting selected to present is competitive and worth the application on its own. For a hardware or energy founder this is a three-day shortcut to the investors and offtake partners who actually write cheques in the sector. Investors and partners can attend without pitching, which is why the corridor conversations are as valuable as the stage.
