What to automate. What to augment. What leaders must own.
A 90 min Executive Briefing and Interactive Discussion
Presented by Liz Ortiguera | Stanford GSB SEP ’16
As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly capable of thinking, creating and acting on our behalf, an important question emerges: How do we harness the full potential of AI while preserving—and strengthening—the capabilities that make us human?
Drawing on insights from the recent Stanford GSB SEP Global Reunion in Shanghai, Liz Ortiguera will lead an interactive executive briefing exploring the evolving relationship between human and artificial intelligence—and what it means for business leaders.
The briefing will bring together perspectives from neuroscience, computing technology and real-world AI deployment, drawing on thought-provoking insights shared by Stanford faculty and fellow executives at the Shanghai reunion.
Building on her own Shanghai presentation, Where AI Meets the Physical World-Responsible AI in Travel, Liz will connect these perspectives to practical leadership challenges: As AI moves from generating information to executing decisions and actions, how do leaders determine what to automate, where to augment human capabilities, and when human judgment and accountability must remain central?
Through practical examples and interactive discussion, the session will explore how leaders can optimize the partnership between human and artificial intelligence—not simply to achieve greater productivity, but to build stronger organizations, preserve human capabilities, and create lasting value.
The central question: As machines become increasingly capable, how do we ensure they make us more capable—not less?About SQ Collective
SQ Collective is a co-working space in Singapore for founders and builders working with AI. Fridays are open co-working days, with a short shared session called The Stage at 1.30pm. People come to work, learn something practical, and go back to building.
