This Month's Workshop: How to Not Get Replaced by Bots

Speaker: Li Xu

Li Xu works in finance, the kind of job everyone expects AI to automate first. She saw that coming early. Instead of waiting to find out whether her role would survive, she started building the AI tools herself.

In this session, Li shares how she went from bracing to be replaced to actively building AI solutions in her field. She'll cover the mindset shift, how she picked up the skills, and how she decides what's worth automating and what isn't.

To make it concrete, she'll show one of her builds: a lightweight operating system for a small family office. It uses AI, Python and simple automation to turn scattered portfolio, cash, tax and reporting data into repeatable workflows, without expensive enterprise software.

What you'll walk away with:

  • A practical path from "AI is coming for my job" to "I build with AI"

  • How to tell which parts of your work AI can take over, and which still need code or a human

  • A real example of human controls and data-quality checks inside an AI workflow
