FILMHACK is a 48-hour, in-person hybrid filmmaking hackathon in Potsdam. 100 creators, 20+ teams, one weekend. You make a short film from scratch and watch it on a cinema screen on Sunday night.
The one rule: every film has to contain something real. A performance, a voice, a place, a shot. Everything else is open. AI creators get a reason to work with real people and cameras. Filmmakers get to use AI without feeling like it all has to be AI.
How the weekend works
- Thursday: Opening panel on hybrid filmmaking and where AI production is heading. Networking after.
- Friday: Registration, a short warm-up workshop, then the countdown starts at 17:00. Pitches, crew forming, drinks.
- Saturday: Shoot, generate, record, edit. Mentors are on the floor.
- Sunday: Submission at 17:00. Screening at the cinema at 19:00. Awards and a celebration.
