Antti Sonninen, founding CEO of Slush Tokyo and now CEO of Takeoff Tokyo, teaches the two things Japanese founders get wrong when they go abroad: choosing the market and opening the pitch. Half the session is how to decide when and where to expand, the other half is what separates an English pitch that lands from one that merely explains the company, including a live demo of the first thirty seconds. Then about five founders pitch on stage for three minutes and get critiqued in the room, and everyone else follows along on a worksheet. Free, capped at 30 seats in person, part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's programme for women founders, with childcare available and an optional one-to-one follow-up.
