Dots: AI that keeps working with you
OpenAI introduced dots, always-on agents powered by GPT-6 Astra that can work across connected apps and their own cloud computer. Explore how an ongoing AI collaborator could help with research, coding, planning, or a workflow you care about. Explore dots.
Plugins: build your own experience inside ChatGPT
The new plugin extensions let developers create sidebar experiences, interactive panels, and custom file viewers. Think project dashboards, creative workspaces, learning tools, or a useful interface that people can work with alongside their conversation. Explore plugin extensions.
Agents: move from answering questions to completing tasks

How the day works
Come prepared with an idea and your laptop. We’ll explore the DevDay announcements together, share practical Codex workflows, and get building.
During the hackathon, turn your idea into a working prototype. At the end of the session, show what you built, explain the problem it solves, and demonstrate how you used OpenAI’s tools.
The building, project demos, judging, and winner announcements all happen on October 10.
Projects will be reviewed for usefulness, technical execution, originality, and how well the solution works.

Recipients will be announced at the meetup. Participating or demoing a project does not automatically guarantee a ticket.

Before you join
Bring your laptop, charger, and ideas. Set up Codex and check access to the OpenAI tools you want to explore beforehand, so you can spend more of the session building. Access to individual launches depends on your plan and their rollout.
