DevDay Exchange Community: From Announcements to Working Builds

DevDay Exchange Community: Bangkok, our fourth Codex Community Meetup, is a community-led gathering for developers and builders who are using, experimenting with, or exploring OpenAI Codex and developer tools.

Following DevDay, we will bring Bangkok’s technical community together to discuss the announcements, explore their practical implications, and apply relevant tools and workflows through a structured, hands-on building activity.

The programme combines an organiser-led DevDay recap, a specification-driven development workshop, four short community talks, and a DevDay-inspired One-Shot Build Challenge. Session content and demonstrations will be finalised after DevDay to reflect confirmed announcements and tools participants can access.

All sessions will be delivered by Nutchanon Yongsatianchot, Piyalitt Ittichaiwong, and local community speakers. No OpenAI team session is planned, whether in person, remotely, or through a pre-recorded contribution.

Before you arrive

Please bring a laptop and charger. Final tool, account, and setup instructions will be shared before the event, based on confirmed public releases and tools participants can access.

The One-Shot Build Challenge

One specific problem. Forty-five minutes. One participant-authored build prompt.

Participants will learn how to turn an idea into a clear specification, use specifications to guide Codex and ChatGPT Work, and produce a working result under a defined constraint. Before submitting their build prompt, they will need to consider requirements, constraints, acceptance criteria, implementation, testing, deployment, and prompt structure.

The general challenge domain or scenario will be introduced during the opening session. The exact problem statement will be revealed at 4:55 PM, immediately before the timed building period begins at 5:00 PM.

The challenge will connect to a DevDay theme or confirmed capability participants can access. Permitted tools and the rules for setup, authentication, permission approvals, and deployment actions will be explained before the timer starts. Follow-up prompts to improve or correct the solution will not be permitted.

Every submission must include:

  • The complete participant-authored build prompt, with evidence sufficient to verify compliance with the one-prompt rule

  • The resulting output and any task-specific deliverables

  • A working deployment or shareable link accessible to the organisers and audience

Links must remain accessible for the showcase and judging. Selected eligible projects may be demonstrated during the showcase and featured on the event showcase website.

All required materials must be submitted by 5:45 PM ICT. Participants who finish and submit early may begin informal networking while the challenge remains open for others.

Community event information

This is a community-led DevDay Exchange Community event, not an official OpenAI event. The event uses community branding appropriate for independent organisers. OpenAI is not being presented as the event host or sponsor.

Our goal is to help Bangkok’s developer community move from hearing about DevDay announcements to experimenting with them, exchanging practical lessons, and sharing feedback from real usage.

Photo and video consent is required to submit a registration request for this event. Applicants must select Yes to consent to photos and videos of them taken during Codex Community Meetup Bangkok #4 being used in community recaps shared by the local organising team. Any use beyond that scope requires appropriate additional permission.
