Student teams spend a day building an AI model to spot money-laundering-style activity on the XRP Ledger, pulling real public on-chain data themselves and choosing their own stack. Run by the UK Centre for Blockchain Technologies with Ripple, UCL CBT, the Imperial College London Data Science Society, the King's College London Blockchain Society and GirlsWhoML.
Teams of up to five, or solo with team formation on arrival. Coffee from 09:30, hacking 10:30 to 16:30, pitches from 17:10, awards at 18:30, networking until 20:00. The 10,000 pound prize pool splits 5,000, 3,500 and 1,500; lunch and drinks provided.
Students only. Registration is approval-gated and closes 20 October, a mandatory online session on XRP Ledger fundamentals runs beforehand, and the exact London location is shared with accepted participants.
Why go: a rare student hackathon with a real dataset, an adversarial problem and a prize pool worth competing for. Best for computer science, data science and finance students who want a fraud-detection project in their portfolio.
