AI can increasingly write, research, summarize, brainstorm, and make recommendations for us. But as we hand more of our work to AI, what human capabilities might we accidentally stop practicing?

This interactive workshop is for people leading teams through the AI era who are already using AI regularly...and are starting to feel the strain or fatigue that comes with it. We’ll explore how to use AI to make work better without outsourcing the parts of work that make us better.

SESSION FORMAT1) Show: AI at WorkLook at real examples of AI workflows and the kinds of work we're increasingly handing over to AI.

  1. Reframe: What Don't We Want to Give Up?Identify the human capabilities we want to keep practicing: critical thinking, discernment, creativity, judgment, voice, and more. Consider where AI use might unintentionally weaken them.

  2. Design: Add the Human LayerRedesign one of your own AI workflows:

  • What should AI do?

  • What should humans still do?

  • What should we never outsource?

  • Where should we pause and apply our own judgment?

  • What practices or rituals will keep those capabilities sharp?

Takeaway: You'll leave with a practical Human-in-the-Loop plan for using AI to augment your capabilities, along with concrete ideas for keeping yourself and your team sharp as AI takes on more of the work.Meet Your Hosts:Kelly Woznicki is a product leader, facilitator, and founder of Empire of Light, where she explores how humans can work together, and with AI, in ways that strengthen creativity, collective intelligence, and human agency.
