Where code meets canvas, and algorithms ignite imagination. From October 23 – 25, 2026, Zurich becomes the center of a groundbreaking creative movement as the ArtTech Hack 2026 officially kicks off. Inspired by the visionary lineage of Ada Lovelace, this 48-hour event is designed to break down the walls between disciplines. It is a collaborative crucible where artists, developers, dancers, computer scientists, musicians, and robotics engineers all build in the exact same room. ArtTech Hack is not your typical tech sprint. It is a playground for collective imagination where abstraction transforms into tangible, cultural, and expressive machines. Participants can join solo or in teams of up to four, merging diverse perspectives to tackle four distinct, high-impact tracks: Track 01: Data – Turn raw, unseen datasets into compelling artistic material by visualizing or sonifying information. Track 02: Simulation – Build immersive worlds running on their own unique laws, developed in collaboration with researchers at ETH Zürich. Track 03: Robotics – Create hardware and software projects where physical movement and biological response are just as vital as behavior. Track 04: Creative Startup – Design ideas meant to live beyond the weekend, shaping a real-world product, studio, or usable tool. The event begins on Friday with the highly anticipated challenge reveal and opening ceremony. Saturday is dedicated to intense building, experimentation, and hands-on workshops. On Sunday, the teams will present their final creations to an expert jury for the award ceremony. selected works will have the unique opportunity to be featured in a public exhibition after the hackathon concludes. Backed by powerhouse tech and university partners like ETH AI Center, and ZHdK, this community-driven event provides all the tools, mentorship, and creative freedom you need. No portfolio or prior hackathon experience is required - just bring your laptop, your skill set, and an open mind. Are you ready to redefine the intersection of technology and art?
