The session opens with an exploration of the customer data most small businesses are already collecting but underutilizing: transaction records, CRM entries, point-of-sale history, and purchase logs. Participants will learn how to use AI to mine this data systematically, identifying their highest-value customers by revenue and purchase frequency, uncovering behavioral patterns that distinguish loyal customers from occasional buyers, and detecting early churn signals before a customer disengages entirely. Special attention is given to loyalty gaps, segments of the customer base with strong purchase history that have gone quiet, and how AI can help owners design targeted reengagement strategies for these high-potential relationships. The session then moves into an area of growing strategic importance for brick-and-mortar and service-area businesses: cell phone mobility and foot traffic data. Participants will learn how AI tools can analyze anonymized mobility data to reveal who is visiting their location, when peak traffic occurs, where customers are coming from geographically, and how their foot traffic patterns compare to nearby competitors. This intelligence provides a powerful complement to internal CRM and POS data offering a fuller picture of customer behavior both inside and outside the business. This workshop series connects small business owners with technology vendors, service providers, and consultants who share insights and tools relevant to each session's topic. Their involvement is intended solely for educational purposes and does not represent an endorsement of their products and/or services. Attendance does not create any obligation professional or otherwise to purchase or engage with any product or service introduced during the program. We encourage all participants to independently evaluate any tool, platform, or provider before making business decisions.
