Flushing Tech Bi-Weekly Hackathon

🚀 Calling all tech enthusiasts 🚀

Come and join us every 2 weeks from 4 PM - 6 PM at Queens College, Flushing! Bring your laptops, your brightest ideas, and/or on-going projects – and let's build something extraordinary together!

The Flushing Tech Meetup invites you to a free-form, self-organized 2-hour mini-hackathon where creativity knows no bounds. We welcome:

• Software Engineers & Developers
• UX/UI Designers & Design Thinkers
• Product & Project Managers
• Data Scientists & Analysts
• Tech Entrepreneurs & Idea People
• Students & Tech Enthusiasts of all levels

All are welcome

The Hackathon is open to the public! You do not need to be a student of Queens College to attend.

Agenda

1. Welcome and introductions (5min)
2. Ideation - 3-5 ideas will be selected after brainstorming and voting (5-10min)
3. Build build build - meet with your group to build and have fun (1.5hr)
4. Presentations and voting - Present your work and participate in some friendly competition (10min)
5. Closing and networking

Wanna get your gears turning before the big day? Here are some fun ways to prep:

• Git good at Git! 😉 Sharpen those version control skills: https://learngitbranching.js.org/
• Arm yourself with a trusty IDE. VSCode is a fan favorite if you're looking for suggestions!
• Designers: Bring your favorite prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
• PMs: Brush up on your user story creation and team facilitation skills
• Everyone: Let those creative juices flow!

Jot down some wild project ideas:

• No idea is too crazy! The sky's the limit! 🌈
• Just make sure the idea is clearly defined so you can show off something cool as a team when we're done.
• It could be anything from a wacky concept to a working prototype. Or maybe you just want to dive into a new tech toy? Go for it!
